Lowestoft Town FC - Headline -- Town to hot for Diss
Trevor Benjamin was a surprise inclusion in Lowestoft Town’s starting line up at Brewers Green lane on Tuesday evening partnering Damian Hilton up front.
With the squad settling down the Blues put on a virtuoso performance and were clearly too strong for the home side. The Blues one touch football was a delight to watch and bodes well for the forthcoming season. Lowestoft moved ahead in the 19th minute with Richard Woodrow glancing home Jamie Godbold’s cross from the left. Surprisingly that proved to be the only goal of the first half.
It took the Blues just 2 minutes of the second half to double their lead. Carl Poppy, a half time substitute for Richard Woodrow curling the ball well beyond the keeper’s reach into the far corner of the net. Gary McGee added a 3rd 5 minutes later. Neil Plaskett had a header cleared off the line and Greg Crane volleyed against the bar before two goals in a minute 10 minutes from time sealed an excellent performance. Firstly Craig Bussens converted from a Godbold pass and then Ross King set up a second goal for Poppy.
