Lowestoft Town FC - News
Terry Lynes' Club Notes 03/09/10
The six points gained thus week has seen the Blues soar up to 4th place in the fledgling Ryman League Premier Division table. On Saturday against Margate the Town had to come from behind to win by the odd goal of three. Margate had taken the lead with a tremendous strike but Lee McGlone equalised within two minutes and Danny Bloomfield hut the winner early in the second half.
Monday’s victory away to Concord Rangers was even more satisfying for the Blues management team as it went some way to dispelling the bitter taste from last season’s 0-5 thrashing and Adam Smith’s horrendous injury. Lowestoft controlled the game from start to finish with Lee McGlone and Danny Bloomfield again on the score sheet.
Tomorrow sees another Kent team come to the Meadow with Folkestone Invicta the visitors. The visitors won promotion through the Division One South promotion play offs but are still looking for their first victory in the Premier Division. Their first 4 games have brought two draws and 2 defeats.
On Tuesday the Blues are on the road again with a visit to Harrow Borough. The Middlesex side have had mixed fortunes this season with two wins and two draws to their name.
The Reserves maintained their good start to the season with a 7-3 away victory over Needham Market Reserves. Christy Finch and Joe Clark both hit hattricks with Louis Cutajar getting the other. Tomorrow they put league matters behind them as they start out on the defence of their Suffolk Reserve Team Cup with a visit to Westerfield Reserves with an early 2.15 kick off.
The Youth team started their league programme yesterday (Thursday) when they visited Wroxham Youth. Next week their attentions turn to cup football when they entertain Dereham Town Youth in the F A Youth Cup on Wednesday evening.
Connor Borrett has returned to the Meadow after a season across the bridge with thanks to Kirkley & Pakefield for expediting the transfer.
Last Sunday the Under 15 squad had a rare outing on the Crown Meadow pitch when they defeated Shrublands Under 15s 3-0.
